Shortstop’s Skull Valley, Big “M” Picnic Ride
Shortstop’s Skull Valley, Big “M” Picnic Ride
May 7, 20227:30 am - 3:00 pm
What’s the Big “M” in this ride? Well, that’s an inside joke. But, what’s not a joke are the awesome roads we so enjoy on this popular ride route. Shortstop is taking us on a nice little dealer sponsored ride up to Skull Valley—We’ll ride up the Yarnell twisties and then up to Kirkland and the beautiful Iron Springs Rd. We plan to stop for lunch at the Skull Valley church grounds and after that, head home around the back of Prescott to Mayer and then on down the 17. We hope to see you there. Oh yeah, it’s a picnic, so…
***Dealer Sponsored Ride***
Meets at New River Shell (3906 W New River Rd) @ 7:30am-KSU 8:00am
RC – Tyrah "Shortstop” Lawson

Ride difficulty – Medium (moderate - mountain curves)
Don't throw any shade Squirrel's way! It may sound like he’s taking us to a dodgy trailer park, but he promises we will have a great time at this overnight destination. The Shady Dells Trailer Park is a popular, 50’s retro themed campground/RV park just the other side of Bisbee. They sport several restored vintage trailers and buses that luckier guests can book to use as their lodging. For your evening entertainment, there is a food stand onsite as well as fire pits and other entertainment. Or, you can head over nearby Bisbee and haunt the locals. Either way, this is going to be a typical, HOG 93 good-time overnighter that we have been looking forward to for many months!
Meets at QT (Cave Creek and Union Hills) @ 8:00am-KSU 8:30am
RC – Eddie "Squirrel" Galacci
Approximate miles – 485(round trip)
Ride difficulty – Easy

In honor of Spike, I had to make sure my ride this month had a cuss-word in it. Other than that, this is just a nice big loop of a ride with plenty of great scenery. We’ll head up the twisties out of Superior and then over through the beautiful Tonto Basin via Miami. From the 188 turn-off, we’ll make our way over to lunch at Ffinch’s Waterfront Kitchen on Roosevelt Lake. After lunch, we’ll complete the loop as we head over to the 87 and then home. I like this ride a lot and hopefully we will not catch too much heat this late in May-fingers crossed.
Meets at QT (Cave Creek and Union Hills) @ 8:00am-KSU 8:30am RC – Devin "Bongo" Ellis Approximate miles – 230(round trip) Ride difficulty – Medium (there’s some curves, but not too bad) s, but not too bad)
